Overview:
The FRDP-SMF aims to enhance the income of 1200 small and marginal farmer households in 10 villages of Bhilangna Block, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The region faces challenges such as fragmented landholdings, low productivity, water scarcity, and human-animal conflict, compounded by climate change and traditional farming practices.

Objective:
To improve agricultural and livestock practices, promote mixed cropping and vegetable cultivation (chilli, onion, garlic), and strengthen soil and water conservation efforts for sustainable livelihoods.
Key Strategies:
- Promote awareness and access to government schemes related to irrigation and soil-water conservation
- Encourage community-led initiatives to protect crops from wild animal attacks
Improve livestock management and climate-resilient agriculture

Project Objective:
To improve access to quality healthcare and enhance health awareness in remote, disaster-prone regions by strengthening local health infrastructure, improving connectivity, and promoting government health schemes.

Key Interventions:
- Strengthen community health infrastructure by reviving sub-centres and community-based support systems.
- Organize regular awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, maternal & child health, and preventive care.
- Conduct health camps for screening, early diagnosis, and referrals to specialist care.
- Facilitate teleconsultations and mobile app-based follow-ups with specialist doctors.
- Provide mental health support to women and girls through structured counseling on stress and trauma.
- Establish platforms like Mahila Swasthya Samooh and Sukoon Manch to build community support around health and well-being.
- Develop the Swasthya Sakhi model to spread awareness and ensure access to health entitlements.
- Collaborate with private and government hospitals for efficient emergency health referrals.
- Promote the cultivation and consumption of millets, pulses, and medicinal plants to enhance nutrition and support farmer incomes.
- Improve maternal health and reduce anemia through kitchen gardening and seed kit distribution.
- Empower women as trained Swasthya Sakhis to deliver basic health services, promote menstrual hygiene, and generate sustainable livelihoods.
