Focused Rural Development Programme (FRDP)

“Strong farming systems create stronger rural communities.” With support from HDFC Bank, MVDA is implementing the Focused Rural Development Program (FRDP) in Kandaghat Tehsil, Himachal Pradesh. The program works with rural farming communities to improve agricultural livelihoods by promoting climate-resilient and nature-positive farming practices. The program encourages farmers to adopt improved cultivation practices, add value to their agricultural produce, and access better market opportunities. It also strengthens farmers’ knowledge and skills through regular training and capacity-building initiatives, enabling them to make informed farming and business decisions. The program enables farmers to earn better returns from their produce by improving productivity, strengthening market connections, and encouraging localised value addition. As a result, farming households are able to increase their incomes and build more secure livelihoods.
