Swasthya aur Aajivika: A Rural Health & Livelihood Mission

Project Objective:

To improve access to quality healthcare and enhance health awareness in remote, disaster-prone regions by strengthening local health infrastructure, improving connectivity, and promoting government health schemes.

Key Interventions:

Strengthen community health infrastructure by reviving sub-centres and community-based support systems.
Organize regular awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, maternal & child health, and preventive care.
Conduct health camps for screening, early diagnosis, and referrals to specialist care.
Facilitate teleconsultations and mobile app-based follow-ups with specialist doctors.
Provide mental health support to women and girls through structured counseling on stress and trauma.
Establish platforms like Mahila Swasthya Samooh and Sukoon Manch to build community support around health and well-being.
Develop the Swasthya Sakhi model to spread awareness and ensure access to health entitlements.
Collaborate with private and government hospitals for efficient emergency health referrals.
Promote the cultivation and consumption of millets, pulses, and medicinal plants to enhance nutrition and support farmer incomes.
Improve maternal health and reduce anemia through kitchen gardening and seed kit distribution.
Empower women as trained Swasthya Sakhis to deliver basic health services, promote menstrual hygiene, and generate sustainable livelihoods.

Programme Overview

Single-teacher led Centre imparting Primary-level education using a Multi Grade Multi Level approach at IIMPACT Learning centers.
Through girl child education programmes we encourage enrollment of girls to receive a firm grounding in primary education.
Capacity Building of teachers and staff through training programs.

Deliverables by MVDA

Expansion of learning centers in four major districts of Uttarakhand.
Reinforcement of library and science module with Agastya Science Kit.
Increase in attendance.
Implementation of new teaching methods such as JodoGyan, which is a Teaching Learning Material (TLM) based learning about mathematics
Operating remedial classes for 6- 14 years old students, studying in 1st to 6th standards.
